Removals in Edinburgh
We live and work In Edinburgh (Unlike some)

I used to live in a remote cottage about 3.5/4 yrs ago was around 8 months and came back to Edinburgh evey month or two at the weekend- was a bit lonely but had to for personal reasons and I run my little business there for a while picking up the odd little local job.

then by chance I had to relocate to glasgow for a short period as was having issues with properties and looed at relocation as geting fed up with edinburgh situation.

My brothers wife died 2 years ago and I had to stay with him in livingston for for around 6 months, hes got MS and in a wheelchair, go past the address anytime youre out - see the wheelchair ramp- Im moving some of his stuff tomorrow if u want to come along and gi a hand , nebby, but anyway whose asking and what frigging intrest is it to you ...aye git yer facts right twally - oh yeah orwell -my other bro lives there and works with me . Amzing what you can do with copying pasting things 3 times to make it look bad to the untrained eye - as well as owning two other properties I lived in - c-cock

Clearances In Edinburgh

Removals in Edinburgh
We live and work In Edinburgh (Unlike some)

Back to reality again, must remember the postman excuse…anyway did a quote for a clearance for an estate agent , always amuses me when the say its for a client who has a load of Rental properties in Edinburgh, meaning you’ll do it cheap as chips and we may use you for moving sofas at short notice every 2nd Friday around 2pm, I never fall for it and just did the quote – too much I was told, so suggested an alternative of doing it themselves to save some money and again those words echoed in my ears – ‘’the clients very well off and has a lot of letting property in Edinburgh’’ …god… some never learn do they – If I had a £1 for every time I heard that id have about £18.
One curio - investments– strange one, how can you put a figure on it? I just look a website with same name and ask the guy who does it, next door neighbour or local man and he’ll tell you, very strange – but currying favour is an art mastered by some , clever stuff!

Posh addresses in Edinburgh

Removals in Edinburgh
We live and work In Edinburgh (Unlike some)
Did a removal job today from Eton terrace to Ramsey gardens to very prestigious addresses, Ramsey gardens is a nice wee spot if you are well off enough to live there. Parking a bit iffy and you can’t access from the royal mile as a bit of the usual Edinburgh roadwork’s going on just now.

Oddly met a customer I moved from Great king street on Saturday coming out of one of the blocks so it’s a very very small world – I don’t drink much but the case of wine he gave us will sure go down well with who ever I decide to be kind enough to pass on. We did two full to the brim Luton van loads and the customer was genuinely delighted with my removal teams efforts and so was I – we like to be straight with customers and none of this training course rubbish some feel the need to offer customers. I think customers like people who are down to earth and just say how it is without being too cheeky or infact full of bull - that seems to be the trend now!

I had my super gloves on but that’s another (true) story! And guess what! No spam fritters in sight! But ….

A nice view of the art gallery from our job today and some happy workers Im taking pic so not in it  !

Millstones at such a young age

Removals in Edinburgh
We live and work In Edinburgh (Unlike some)

Recently I did a small removal for a young couple who had just got married, they must’ve been about 20 and seemed very green and  innocent, both students studying at Edinburgh university and not really that street wise – got me thinking ..why do people do such things at a young age having not experienced life in any shape or form ? or more importantly experienced different relationships, a must if you want understand how other people live, think, work - you know getting to know life and its mechanics.

I predict it’s going to be a hard future for them staying together, what with university studies then possible career related conflicts- moving in opposite directions etc. I suppose they have moved on from their home towns but sticking together for life, that I very much doubt. They will soon get bored with each other everyone does apart for the kidders out there… how can you be interested in someone at such a young age and keep it up till death do us part - throughout married life?
I would understand if they were bog standard small town hill-billys (sorry hill-billys) ‘’all our family live within 15 miles/minutes of each other’’ call up canon fodder that doesn’t know any better and all the extended family do the same going back generations, but these individuals are actually using their brains for study and looking to expand horizons, seems total madness to get married so young and commit to each other – I give it 2 years, hopefully they don’t have millstone-kids, then that will be an issue…. sticking together and both putting up a false front of happiness with ''kids are great'' and all time classic ''best thing that evey happened to me''  total whitewash mind numbing from the proud dad book of guff  - but secretly both hating it and longing for the when we were free past, Imagine living life like that!!

Wow ... see my views are going up in this Genuine Removals blog - no need for made up crap on `ere eh lads ...
anyway back up to sunny kindom of fife with a removal this morning 1/2 luton vans worth nice and easy East claremount street to Markinch oppo train station, then headed off down to bruntisland 3+2 seater leather sofas plus other bits that looked like it was from peter stringfellows night club and took them down to quayide mills in Leith  - trendy wee flat but dont think the stringfellow gear does it much justice. Nor did the polished sofas for our grip - hands covered in silicon for the polish but we coped well - Remember folk dont use mr sheen or pledge on your leather sofas is a bloddy nightmare!!!

Heres a view heading over the firth of forth this morn - check  c-ccat  see if it starts posting pics -  reminds me to call round to complain again ....

Im might be heading off soon for a long break - not your usual break but an enforced break - keep you posted if things continue at my address.

Strange people

Removals in Edinburgh
We live and work In Edinburgh (Unlike some)

Another day another load of strange emails and odd calls - one lady looking for a trip for her student daughter From Edinburgh to Belfast’’ not much’’ she said, and was a bit quick fire on the tongue but I think that’s the Irish for you….well anyway what I could make out is she couldn’t be bothered driving over and moving the student daughters goods to bring back to Ireland so was looking for a mover of sorts to do it for more or less same price a standard car on the ferry plus what her fuel would cost – asking me if I was competitive for pricing removals, I said yes… for a proper removals business, tax paying, insured and all that but not compared to a car driving over and picking someone up for the sake of family love – this seemed to throw her a bit , but I think I got my point across, suggested she’s no hope in hell getting it for same price from a man with a van in Edinburgh for same cost for her doing the job. Mind you there might be some desperadoes out there. I decided to give her some good advice and a top removals website she could visit and see if someone on there could help her – odd thing is that the 3rd trip to Ireland request I’ve had in 3 days – I’m a bit suspicious about that and it’s the 4th in 5 days 5th in 2 weeks.

Talking of timewasters.. another request for a Removal to London today, seemed a but too sharp on the request form, meaning most folk are as vague as hell and just fill out the form with basic minimal English but this one seemed to be a bit too chatty so I put it down to another spammer – gave price but wont hear back as it was probably a none job. Bristol next I suppose ….yawnnn

People eh!!

Job done boulder artwork Edinburgh

I moved some artwork the other day from the Edinburgh college of art - was a bit mad, just like the artists... some of the stuff must have been created in a drunken or chemical haze but this one made me laugh ( I almost feel of my chair laughing) no once again no I didnt....bit lame that comment - very man about the house, or till death do us part...

Its a boulder called job done - Quite a good motto for the likes of my little Man with a van business!

Rather odd looks we got driving round the corner to the art exhibition in lauriston place- I did ask for more details of job but like anyone moving anything in a van they were not that clear and makes it worse when its artistic types youre dealing with.

Nice ive got another few hits - blog must be getting popular (with one person anyway) ...ta for visiting me keep it up !! keep the other stuff up and .....

Might visit you one day !!

A hard life for some

Removals in Edinburgh

Morning again - nebby !

Being an Edinburgh removals man in a van travelling all over Scotland and the uk I go to and pass thought some strange little places. I like the Scottish countryside and there are some beautiful little former fishing villages and small towns around Scotland but there are some real desperate little depressing places. Some used to have mining or some other little industry like Kirkcaldy, lino... or marmoleum as its now called, popular in hospitals due to its disinfectant properties, lino in homes is not as popular as it was but still they have a factory in the town - it was a booming trade well over 30 years ago not it’s more or less gone. Some other little places dotted over Scotland have been geared to coal mining/fishing and some locations I move people to look like they have just been build to accommodate a growing overflowing population, or accommodated a lost working generation skilled or unskilled.

Some of the housing planners must have been mad planned those concrete small towns, indistinctive tiny brown boxes in a line with grubby exteriors with no character with the compulsory depressing point of interest co-op they all congregate for fags and booze, depressing little schemes. People living there must feel quite desperate at times it’s no wonder they have chemical abuse and alcohol problems plus the usual benefits claimants, how can you find a decent paying job when nothing is available? It must cost a fortune to keep the population expanding. I’m not sure what the future for those types of towns if there is a future, do small towns/schemes really need a future? Nothing will ever happen without billions of investments but then its back to the solution to the problem.. governments throwing money at it and for what reason? Time must just drag on for someone living in a place like that with no hope for most.

I’m not a great believer in economical/population growth, not everyone has to run the family formula brought on by peer pressures or maybe its just a basic human instinct (boredum) look where it gets the population, unwanted feral kids, greed, crime, housing shortages and the biggest offender of all the social costs paid for by the workers/taxpayers. It can only go so far till something happens good or bad. Maybe one day the government (in 20 years or so) will be a bit more pro-active with the lost and growing population issue no one likes to talk about - not everyone has a purpose/future/relevance and we don’t need to expand towns and population for no reason - where will it all end??

Removals in Edinburgh
We live and work In Edinburgh (Unlike some)

Got another Removal job over to fife on sunday morning going from East claremount street then viewcraigs gardens to move a piano down 3 flight of stairs... wow wee!!!  then off to sunny glenrothes to unload it all. On the way back were passing by burntisland for a sofa collection. Dont know whats it is about people doing removals in Fife just now thats 4 times this week I will have been over. Id have thought they could use some local fife removals company over there its a pity would prefer some local fife lad to do the job might actully do some advertising in fife but clearly stating I dont live there incase some confusing arises, may have an extended version of the Edinburgh removals assoc to take in those companies small sole trader types on board ...What a spiffing idea !!!
